In its mission to help in the construction, consolidation and enhancement of institutional integrity systems, the Anti-Fraud Office provides assistance and support to Administrations and other bodies that make up the public sector of Catalonia. It does so through the Prevention Directorate which, alongside other approaches, studies, promotes and fosters good practices that contribute to improving quality in public service provision. It also collaborates by training and advising staff in the Administrations, creating tools and resources and submitting proposals and recommendations in accordance with the risks detected and based on following up the activity of the Office.
Society, understood in a broad inclusive sense as the private sector, civil society and private individuals, is also the target for preventive action. In this respect, the Office undertakes actions to promote and raise awareness of its involvement not only in its traditional role as “watchdog” but, essentially, encouraging non-institutional actors to behave with integrity.
