This investigative action aimed to determine whether there were irregularities in the hiring by the University of Barcelona (UB) of an associate professor, taking into account the professional experience requirement that had to be met in order to participate in competitions for access to associate professor positions. According to this Office, there is no document in the file that, objectively considered, would prove that the person chosen met the requirement of prior professional experience to be able to participate in the competitions for associate professors. Given that this failure to comply constitutes an infringement of the regulations governing the figure of associate professors, the action ended with a communication to the UB of the commission of a disciplinary infraction by the hired associate professor and, at the same time, of the deficiencies observed in its performance with regard to the control of compliance with the requirements established in the personnel calls.
