Following a report, the alleged concurrence of irregularities in the management, by the former board of directors, of public funds received by a municipal sports club, as well as irregularities in the inspection of the corresponding management contract, has been examined. No breaches were detected that go beyond the strictly administrative sphere, although it is clear that the execution of the investments committed in the facilities was not strictly adjusted to the terms and items provided for in the terms of the concession. However, to the extent that, in the course of the proceedings, the municipal council agreed to intervene in the management contract, it was considered appropriate to direct a communication to the Granollers City Council so that, once completed, it would be sent to this Office a copy of the economic and management audit carried out, and a formal reminder was given of the importance of exercising the duty of control and monitoring of the public administration, as a guarantee of the correct execution of contracts and concessions.
