On behalf of the Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia, the Director of the Analysis Department, Carlos Quílez, took part on the II Transparency meeting, transparent management and social responsibility of public and private institutions. The event was organised by the Transparency and Management General Secretariat of Ecuador and that took place in the Ecuadorian cities of Quito, Cuenca and Guayaquil from the 5th to the 9th of December.
In commemoration of the International Anti-Corruption Day, the main objective of the meeting was to create a collective space of reflection and exchanging experiences and good practices with regards to honesty and transparent management. This should be a platform for new initiatives addressed to institutions and citizens in order to achieve a fairer and more solidary society.
The director of Analysis presented a paper in each of the cities of the encounter. The papers dealt with the presentation of the institution, the description of its functions, the importance of the institutional cooperation agreements towards integrity and institutional cooperation with national and International organisations.
The representatives of the participating countries (Bolivia, México, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru and Venezuela) claimed, bringing as an example the Anti-Fraud Office, courage to their public representatives in order to enhance the creation of anti-corruption bodies and crossed policies for fighting corruption. All of them requested the same level of independence as the one that Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia holds.
