On the 26th of October, the Commission of Institutional Affairs of the Parliament of Catalonia ratified Albert Batlle as the new deputy director of the Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia, with the favorable votes from the Partit Socialista de Catalunya, Partit Popular de Catalunya and Iniciativa Verds (Esquerra Unida i Alternativa); abstention from Convergència i Unió; and the vote against his appointment from Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya.

Batlle holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Barcelona and he has been involved for the last 30 years with the municipal and autonomous community policies and in particular, the sphere of municipality, sport, criminal execution and social and labour reintegration.

The deputy director will replace the director in case of his absence or temporary incapacity, and assumes the functions that according to the law are delegated by the director and, temporarily, the functions held by the director of the Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia in case of cessation except when his mandate expires.
